AFCP Goes Social!

Network with your industry associates at the AFCP LinkedIn and Facebook groups.

Now you can keep track of what's happening in AFCP and the free paper industry by linking to one or both of AFCP's social networking pages. Pages exist on both LinkedIn and Facebook.

Facebook has quickly become the largest social networking site in the world with over 90 milliion members. You can join for free and network with friends and colleagues across the aisle or across the globe. And, you can network with free paper professionals at the AFCP Group.

You will need a Facebook account (register for free at www.facebook.com.), but once registered all you need to do is:

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Click on the Groups link on the left-hand side.
  3. Enter AFCP in the search box and hit enter.
  4. Disregard all the groups except the one with the AFCP logo.
    1. This is the general AFCP Group, which you will want to join.
    2. Some of the others will be specific to areas of our industry. Join the ones that are of most interest to you.
  5. Click on "Join this group."

That's it. You're in. Facebook allows much wider communication abilities so you may get more email when someone posts a comment or question. However if it ever becomes a problem, simply drop from the group. We'll monitor the posting and try to bounce anyone who abuses it.

Joining the LinkedIn AFCP Group is easy. You will need to register as a LinkedIn user (it's free). You can register at www.linkedin.com.

Once you're a member, just do these steps:

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Click on the link marked "Groups".
  3. Click on "Find a Group".
  4. Search for "free community papers" and the AFCP site will pop up.
  5. Click on "Join this group".

That's all it takes! You're in and you're ready to link to other free paper professionals from across the country.

Twitter allows short messages to instantly transmit to your computer, telephone or other device. Sign up for free and follow AFCP. Just follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Twitter at www.twitter.com.
  2. Create your free account.
  3. In the update field, enter "f afcp".

You're Done! It's that simple.
